After two years going around this country as a tractor trailer driver, to my knowledge, I wasn’t picking up from or delivering to any Balck owned businesses. I began to ask myself, where are they?  I knew there was Black owned businesses in this country but how do I find them?  I started my search by asking other people, going on line, looking in phonebooks and every place I could think of to see if I could find at least one place that listed Black Americans in business. We have designed our websites, graphics,and logos to match our products and services.  We have our websites SEO (search engine optimization) where everybody in the world can find us.  Everyday we are in the Social Media Network, email marketing, twittering, on facebook, and blogging.  We can even have them all connected to one another. We have Google and Yahoo Ads perfectly placed on our websites and some of us have our contents edited by the best, except for yours truly, which is not one of those who have our contents edited by the best”.   We have done everything the experts told us to do.  We are so excited about the future of our websites and marketing our products and services.  Only to find out our products and services are not moving as fast as we thought they would.  Though, all those things we are doing to bring traffic to our sites does work over time.   There is one more peice to the pizzple we beleive may be the most important. On Sunday, April 25, 2010, while walking into the BX (Base Exchange) at Fort Lee, Virginia, I noticed a lady sitting at a table as I walked in the door.  I didn’t really pay much attention to the lady or what was on the table.  I knew she was selling something and thinking to myself at the time, I don’t have my business cards on me. My routine is to offer my business card to people I see when I’m out and about as a way of advertising my website, BlackAmericaLibrary.com. But, since I didn’t have my cards with me, I decided, oh well, I’ll catch her on the way out. 

On the way out of the store.  I figured we’ll stop by and say a few words.  Ask a few questions about her product and find out where else she’s advertising.  I’ll make my pitch about BlackAmericaLibrary.com, offer her some free advertisement and leave.  Which is exactly what I did with one exception. We ended up buying the book she was selling on the table.  Buying something wasn’t in my plan, you know what I’m saying, LOL. My plan was to make my pitch about my website, and leave.

But, how can you refuse to buy “PIMPS IN THE PULPIT” written by Best Selling Author, Shannon R. Bellamy?  Who was sitting at the table on her book signing tour. WOW, what a honor to meet someone who has the courage to share their true life story as she have.  Hats off to you Shannon.

I attended the wedding of Patrice Shari Parham and Nakari Fontae’ McWhorter now husband and wife on April 24, 2010.  

I’m not sure if you can call it work what these brothers were doing.  They were playing music, taking pictures, and video recording, all in sync with one another. You would have never known they were three (3) separate businesses operating in the same room as if they were all on the same team.  There were DJ Hollywood playing the music, Michael Pittman of P&P Video Productions at www.pandpvideo.net behind the video camera and Lorenzo Nicholson and associate of Platinum Photography at www.platinumphotographs.com snapping pictures.  

I’m sure the bride and groom, family and friends, enjoyed their attention to details, their smiling faces, and making everything go smooth as silk, as if they were in a symphony.  Not that I’ve ever been to a symphony, but it did sound good, LOL.  

Congrats to the wedding coordinator.  If being a wedding coordinator is not your profession, you might have missed your calling.  Just kidding.  For real, you put together a memorable team for the bride and broom, family and friends to enjoy.
